The flashing prompt etched itself into her brain.

Son of a bitch.

He'd set the comm system to send this to her if he was ever declared dead. For six hours the computer had been asking to play it. Loftus had yet to answer.

She would always love Hank Evans. But she hated him for how he'd betrayed that love. When she learned of his death she'd thought it was finally over.

But now he'd get to speak with her unable to respond. She suspected that was the point.

Loftus wasn't going to allow that to happen.

"Computer... delete message."
