“Oh my god...”

Stopped by a sudden realization, Zaylie Burton steadied herself against the corridor wall.

“He's the captain... and I just...”

She caught her breath, telling herself it was simply a playful thing she'd done. Only a kiss on the cheek--- didn't mean a damn thing.

I should go back and apologize.

But...

No, that would make it more than it was, and call more attention to it. Best to leave it be.

Zaylie trudged toward the turbolift, wishing she could travel back five minutes.

This wasn't the Academy. Her usual carefree attitude had to go.

Playtime was over.
